My uncle Abe Ginsberg, Daughters of Israel Geriatric Facility, West Orange, New Jersey, April 13, 1986. He was too weak to sip from a straw. He lifted his hand as I stood at the foot of the bed with camera. He died a week and half later. He had whispered, “I love you” when I first came in his room.

Harry Smith returned to visit my house, his old room behind him, about a year after he’d migrated upstate to Cooperstown with two dozen boxes of his paintings, books and several hundred hours of tapes he’d made on my Sony Pro Walkman of the ambient sounds of lower Manhattan (climaxing July 4, 1985) – microphone wrapped in towel on windowsill sucking in dog barks & auto horns from the battery to lower East Side for months. Now it is August 30th, 1986.

My aunt Edie Leegant (Uncle Max Frohman's sister), Santa Monica 1985, with her room mate Mollie, and granddaughter's photo in black sweater over her shoulder. "Max's sister Edie works, 17 years bookkeeper at Ginabelle's-" Kaddish. Now she's 82 years old & spry, walked me two miles to cousin Oscar's house after this photo was made.

Harry Smith, Film-maker, folklore archivist, ethnomusicologist, hermetic painter, alchemist & Bishop of O.T.O. erasing some note in his calendar, Packing boxes of books and rare phonograph records in his room prior to departure from Hotel Breslin 28th St. & Broadway where he lived several years. Some boxes were stored in basement of Film-Maker's Archive, some at my apartment. January 12, 1985.

Dmitri Prigoff and Bella Akhmadulina in her husband Boris Mesuref's studio, Vorovsky Street Moscow -- I found their apartment, she introduced me to Prigoff as outstanding avant-guard experimental Poet- late November 1985. Two years later I read Prigoff's English Translations for him at an art gallery in Manhattan.
