This is a black-and-white photograph of the head and shoulders of a seated woman. She looks directly at the viewer, with her face turned slightly to the right and half in shadow. She is holding a string of beads in her mouth and has distinctive features including strong eyebrows and hair styled in braids and wrapped around her head. She wears large earrings and a beaded necklace, with a patterned shawl draped over her shoulders. The background features two blank canvases in frames.
