Artist, British, 1802 - 1873

This is a drawing of a lion, tiger, and leopard in a struggle. Below the three entangled cats, the body of a sheep lays on the ground. The tiger is on top of the sheep, lying on its back, its mouth open to reveal sharp teeth. The lion is on top of the tiger, biting into its neck, its long mane visible. The leopard is crouched on the right, also appearing trapped under the lion, moving away from the other two with its mouth open in a snarl. The background contains pale lines and leaf shapes that hint at an outdoor setting.
