Artist, British, 1847 - 1911

This painting depicts a landscape with craggy mountain peaks that look almost like waves. The rocky ledge closest to us continues across the bottom of the painting up into the bottom left corner, and is mostly gray, with dark blue shadows. On the right is a dark blue and purple peak, its edges lined in white. In the center is a peak that is light blue towards the bottom and white at the top, with rays of light seeming to emit from it into the blue sky. It is surrounded by white stars.
