Painter, French, 1867 - 1947

This painting shows a table setting with a white tablecloth which features a vase of pink, purple, and yellow flowers in the center, next to a fruit bowl with oranges and other fruits on the left. There is also an empty blue pitcher behind the flower vase, and what look to be some stacked gray plates. Nearest to us, in front of the objects on the table, appear to be layers of fabric in cream, blue, and pink, with a section of brown tassels. In the background is a striped wall or curtain in shades of pink, orange, and yellow, a wooden chair, and another small table off to the left. The paint has been applied in visible brushstrokes, and some of the strokes are uneven, giving them a patchy appearance and creating variation in the colors.
